The Consumer Assistance Office is a non-profit organization, working in cooperation with and receiving a grant from the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General, to provide free information and mediation to area consumers when they encounter problems with businesses.
We do not give legal advice and cannot enforce laws. Mediation services are offered only upon receipt of a written complaint. For more information about the mediation process, please visit the mediation page here.
Our staff of trained volunteer mediators will help anyone who calls, but only consumers who have complained to the business and live within our service area may request mediation services. (Please see the list of our cities and towns below.) Residents of other communities seeking mediation will be referred to the consumer agency that covers their area.
